Silviu Puecarete

Silvio Pukaret was born in Bucharest in 1950 and studied stage direction at the City Theatre Academy where he was born.

As one of the most notorious Romanian national treasure level directors, he has directed for several top Romanian theaters (including theaters such as Sibiu, Krayova, Bucharest, Kluge Napoca, etc.), as well as for the UK (Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Nottingham Theatre), Austria (Palace Theatre), France (Limoges United Theatre), Luxembourg, Norway (Bergen National Theatre, Norwegian Oslo Theatre) Directed works by countries such as Portugal (San Jose National Theatre) and Hungary (Katona Joseph Theatre).

Due to his outstanding artistic characteristics, he was awarded the Order of Knight in Literature and Art in France, and the Order of Order of Romania in Romania. He served as the director of the Brandra Theatre in Bucharest and as the general manager of the Limoges National Theatre Center for 7 years. His works include Metamorphosis, Three sisters, Decameron, Lulu, etc.

His outstanding work "Faust" has been selected for the Bologna Prague European Capital of Culture project and the Sibiu European Capital of Culture project.

His talent and success in directing plays gave him the opportunity to collaborate with opera houses such as the Bonn Opera House, the Welsh National Theatre, the Vienna National Opera House, the Scottish Opera House, and the Essen Opera House. His works have also participated in major theatrical festivals around the world, including Edinburgh, Avignon, Tokyo, Melbourne, Montreal, Glasgow, Bath, Varna, Gdansk, and more.

His film debut "Parrilla Somewhere" was released in 2012.
